I’m excited to return to Compass next week! As a former elementary school teacher and Compass parent, being in your school surrounded by all these happy kids is an wonderful experience for me. I look forward to seeing many faces I recognize, and meeting the new children who have joined our community. I approach school portraits differently than the big companies that do it so I thought I’d share a few images with you so we can get familiar with each other.
I have created a style of portraiture that focuses on the child and the personality. Using a simple white background, my portraits are totally focused on your child…no gimicks, no extra colors to distract from the subject. I spend a few minutes with each child, conversing with the, playing a bit, perhaps using a few puppets I bring with me to draw your child’s personality out. By the time I’m finished creating portraits of your child, we are no longer strangers to each other.
