Wedding Photography by Eric Bakken

Eric was exactly what I needed on my wedding day. I can’t imagine a better photographer: every picture is wonderful and I am thrilled with everything, from the way Eric conducted himself, to the quality of our pictures, to the price. Eric fit into our wedding day seamlessly and got footage of things I didn’t even know were happening! He has a great eye and has given me everything I could have hoped for in terms of long-lasting wedding day memories. My friends and family were utterly impressed with the quality of the photos, as well as his creative photo ideas and willingness to give us what we wanted. My wedding was a whirlwind, and I can’t be happier with the photos I’ll get to keep forever, and this is because of the fantastic work and commitment from Eric. Katie, Summer 2009 Bride

I love weddings.  For a photographer, it is a day filled with the richness of beauty, joy, friends, family, and anticipation.   I think back to a wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado and how I was able to be with Katie and Rob through the entire story of their day…from the craziness of being in a mountain resort town on the biggest Summer holiday…to keeping an eye on the rain that fell sporadically throughout the afternoon…to an evening filled with dancing and cotton candy (instead of cake…hey, the Bride decides!)

When we talk on the phone or get together for a consultation, I can tell you all about how I do my work, the equipment I use, and the philosophy of photography I bring to weddings, but right now I want you to see what I’ve done for other couples…that’s the best story I can share with you today.

Wedding Coverage that captures portraits of the people you love, the beautiful details, and the joyful moments start around $1700. Complete packages with Engagement Sessions and albums are in the $3000 neighborhood. Every couple is a bit different, and we design a package that fits your desires and budget.

If you like my style and philosophy, but aren’t getting married in Colorado, that’s ok, we have a great airport here in Denver, and I love to travel.

Use the contact form above to send me your wedding dates and I’ll get a price list right back to you.

Thank you so much for everything you did the day of our daughter’s wedding. It seemed like you were in a million places at the same time and captured every memory! I remember thinking, as you were taking the family pictures, that you were so efficient — we all just cycled through! — I was actually a little worried the pictures might not turn out, but my concerns were all laid to rest as I viewed beautiful picture after beautiful picture! You were not obtrusive in any way throughout the entire wedding day. You were there to do a job and you did it with finesse and complete professionalism. You were friendly and personable and there was never any question in anyone’s mind why you were there. I highly recommend you to anyone seeking a professional photographer for any reason.

Thank you!
Terri, Mother of a 2009 Bride

Denver Wedding Photographer: Jasmine and Brian at the Sheraton Denver Downtown

Just a sneak peek! More to come as we edit the thousands of pics I (and the guests at the crazybooth!) took.

Colorado Wedding Film: Cherokee Ranch and Castle

It was a beautiful Tuesday afternoon that I drove up the winding road to Cherokee Ranch. It was Elizabeth and Brett’s wedding day and I was there to capture the day on film. Here’s a sneak peek.

Interested in a wedding film created from your special day? I offer motion picture services alongside traditional wedding photography using the latest digital film technology. I then edit your footage into a short wedding film that captures the feeling, the moments, and the voices of the day.

Arrowhead Wedding Photographer: Jessica and Brent get Married!

I’m sure that a few of the smile lines I’m developing can be directly blamed on the time I’ve spent with Jess and Brent over the past few months. I met Jess last August, when she brought her always-handsome Kamron (age 4) to the Grant-Humphries Manson for some portraits together. Then, a few minutes after my wife drove my daughter to the Emergency room after falling off her bike (she’s fine, but won’t be if she ever touches a bike without her helmet again), I get an email from Jess:

Hi Eric,
Jessica McCormack here. Brent and I are getting married this year, October 2, 2009. We saw your wedding shots and loved all the work you've done with us in the past that we'd be honored if you would consider shooting our wedding.

So one thing lead to another, we met for a tasting at their wedding venue, Arrowhead golf club, and then met again for a wonderful (and hilarious) portrait session at Arrowhead in August, and now, October 2nd, when they looked at each other and said, “I Do!” in front of their friends and family.

I could write more but I’ve got to get these out to all of you! This is just a selection of my favorites, Jess and Brent will send out a link to their complete gallery after they’ve had a chance to look at it.

Denver Wedding at the Warwick: Heather and Bill!

I joined Heather and Bill, their charming boys, and loving family for a delightful day at the Warwick Hotel in Denver this weekend. I arrived as the girls were getting hair and makeup done on the 6th floor, and the boys were still on their way. Heather and Bill had their first look on the patio downstairs at Randolph’s restaurant, and then we went right into a sunny, beautiful, and emotional ceremony.

If you’ve met me, you can tell by my size that I love to eat. (If you haven’t met me, I’m 5’10, 135) So as I watched the efficient and very professional banquet staff at the Warwick Hotel transform the ballroom into brunch my stomach started rumbling (little secret here, if you are planning a wedding, you MIGHT be able to get me to work for food if you are as much a foodie as I)

I setup the Crazybooth (a wedding photobooth) and our friendly bartender christened it with one of the wigs that Heather brought along to liven up the booth. Then it was on to a fun and frolicking reception with dancing, eating, and laughter.

Heather and Bill, Thank you for inviting me along to your wonderful wedding day, enjoy and remember with these images!
